Questions About Viewing the Course

How long do I have to view the video course?
Your purchase allows you to login three times. Please plan accordingly.

What constitutes a login?
Each time you enter your username and password to arrive at the online course media player, this counts as one of your three login rights. Unlike text-based online courses, these streaming media courses are not designed for unlimited login. Think of them as being in a seminar with an instructor. Your three login rights allow you to take breaks from the course. IMPORTANT – if for any reason you hit refresh or close out your browser you will need to log back in to view the online course. This may inadvertently cause you to lose one of your three login rights. Please plan accordingly.

Can I view the course on a dial-up Internet connection?
No. It will likely stutter, pause, or not play at all. We recommend using a high-speed Internet connection only. For this reason not everyone will be able to take these courses.

How do I know what my Internet connection speed is?
Test your bandwidth at this website.

Why does the video hiccup, pause, or stutter?
This is related to either your broadband speed or Internet traffic. If you already have high-speed Internet, other things you can do are:

  1. hit the PAUSE button and wait for the bottom bar to move significantly forward. This allows the media player to load enough content before you hit the PLAY arrow again to view the segment without interruption.
  2. close out other programs on your computer.
  3. close out other windows open in your Internet browser.
  4. if you are using a wireless connection, check your signal strength. If it is low connect to the Internet directly via cable or reduce the number of computers simultaneously using the connection.
  5. without closing your browser, leave the course and return a few hours later when Internet traffic is lower. If you close your browser you will lose one login credit.

I received a message that said the video was not available. What does
this mean?

This occurs when your computer or system network has a firewall against certain websites. It can also happen if you have not updated to the latest version of Adobe Flash. Link here to update now. If you checked our sample player first using the same computer and Internet connection and were able to operate the streaming player you should not have received this message. Try checking our website media player from another location.
